So much important ministry in the Bible happened around a table with good food. In the Spring and the Fall, we ask different families and individuals to host meals in their homes. This is a great way to get to know people in the church, and start building relationships. Each group that forms is different in when it meets and where. Usually the groups meet 4-5 Times.

Our next series of Maranatha Meals will be this Fall.

The early church functioned mostly out of believers homes where their lives were spent together. We believe that smaller groupings of believers is essential to being interconnected and challenged to grow in your faith. We call our smaller groups “house churches” and they are designed to function as smaller versions of the big church.

This is a work in progress hoping to launch later this Fall. Let us know that you are interested below, and you will be among the first to know what we figure out.

Jesus said, “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve”. All who follow Christ are “servants.” We believe that in order to follow God we must also serve others. Find out what ways you can serve within and outside of the Maranatha Church.

Ministry is something that we are all called to, and capable of doing.
Here are some simple tools to help you share the good news of jesus with others.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

He’s the Unchanging Person. Yesterday. Today. Forever. The same Jesus who formed the earth and all its life with His words...the same Jesus who walked the earth and ate food with sinners and healed broken people...the same Jesus who never once sinned, but was executed as the worst of all sinners and died for yours...the same Jesus who conquered death and the grave so you can live forever in an unbroken body...the same Jesus that sits at the right hand of the Father praying for you...the same Jesus who will return one day to rule and reign over all things and everyone as King of Kings and Lord of’s all about Him. He loves you with an undying love and he wants nothing more than to be your Lord and Savior. And He hasn’t changed. He is still all of the above and so much more. So at Maranatha, its all about Jesus. Without apology, he is the most important fact you will ever learn about our church. He is our absolute absolute.

Maranatha Church of Jacksonville is located in the Southwest part of Jacksonville. We started in 2004 as Oakleaf Christian Fellowship, but after not building in Oakleaf we decided to change our name. Since day one, we have attempted to be a family of followers of Jesus Christ who seek to reach out to our community.

We are a non-denominational church with a modern style of music in our worship services. Dress is usually more casual, and all are invited.

“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
1 Thessalonians 2:8

A church is a connected group of people...not a building, and not only a worship service on Sunday morning. That is why at Maranatha we strive to talk as much about ways to connect throughout the week as our Sunday morning worship service.

Don’t get us wrong, we believe there is great importance in gathering every Sunday morning to worship God together. However, most of our life is lived Monday through Saturday... outside the four walls of the church building. So, our aim is to follow God all of the time, and not just on Sunday mornings. One more thing, Jesus really wants a relationship with you. He loves you and He will pursue you to the ends of the earth. But, He won’t force himself on you. And neither will we. So, you are free to come and check out our church without fear that we will stalk you for the rest of your life. Just know that we will always be promoting a brand of Christianity that involves being connected to others in ways that go beyond our simple Sunday morning gathering.

We are part of a greater community of churches and missionaries called the Malachi Network. This is a group of like minded people seeking to make the name of the Lord “great among the nations.” Malachi 1:11
